Founded in 1831 and incorporated in October 1965, Bolingbrook, Illinois is the 17th largest incorporated place in the state and the Illinois' 2nd largest village. Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm
Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm, located at 419 Trout Farm Road in Bolingbrook, Illinois, offers a unique way to spend your day in the town. Visitors to the farm can fish for both trout and catfish, which are stocked in the lakes at different parts of the year. The farm is great for fishermen of all ages and skill levels. Though you’re not required to have a state fishing license to fish at Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm, you do have to have a permit for the park itself, which runs just $10 for a single day. Spending the day fishing is a fun, affordable way to enjoy time with your entire family!

Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve
Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve, near Bolingbrook, Illinois, is an impressive natural park created as a result of the Wisconsin Glacier geological event. Today, the forest preserve covers 2,492 acres and contains prairies, savannas, and oak-maple woodlands, which are home to 740 native plant species, 300 species of mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, and reptiles, and 300 species of invertebrates. While you visit Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve, you can take in its famous tiered waterfall, hike on its trails, fish its lakes, camp, or enjoy its popular model aircraft field. Visiting the Forest Preserve is free.

Wilderness Falls
Wilderness Falls is a popular fun park located in Bolingbrook, Illinois that has activities for the whole family. You can play one of two mini-golf courses, take a swing at the batting cages, explore Big Foot’s Cave, and navigate racing rapids. Prices vary depending on which activities you want to do, but in general, you can have a good time at the park with your whole family for under $10 per person! 

Johansen Farms
If you’re visiting Bolingbrook, Illinois in the fall, you can’t miss Johansen Farms. It’s a kids’ zoo and pumpkin patch that hosts one of the state’s favorite fall festivals. At the farm, you and your kids can interact with 500 petting zoo animals, including rabbits, goats, and chicks. There are also plenty of rides, a huge pumpkin patch, and a fall market where you can purchase all of your autumn decorations and foods. It’s free to visit the pumpkin patch and fall market, and all rides and animals are included with admission to the zoo.
