If you're like many people, your monthly bills take up most or even all of your paycheck, leaving you with nothing to save or use for fun. You may even feel you're working just to pay bills, no matter how well you're managing your finances. With that in mind, we at AmeriCash Loans put together a list of tips on how to save money on some of the most common monthly bills:

Rent
It's possible to save money on your rent. Start by considering a roommate to cut many of your monthly bills in half. Other options include:
  • Downsize: If you have a three-bedroom home but you only really use two of the bedrooms, consider looking for something smaller.
  • Negotiate: If you plan to stay where you are and you've been a good tenant who pays rent on time, ask your landlord for a better rate when it's time to renew your lease.
  • Work for it: Offer to mow the lawn or do the repairs (some landlords will offer a discount for this).
  • Move: The farther you live from big cities, the cheaper your rent. A move 10 miles away could save you hundreds of dollars.

Energy Bill
It can be hard to save energy at home and cut back on your bill, especially during the winter and summer months when you're running the heat or AC, but it can be done. Try:
  • Switching to Energy Star-certified light bulbs
  • Replacing your air filters
  • Raising or lowering the thermostat when you're at work
  • Unplugging appliances that aren't in use
  • Seal any cracks in your home, especially near doors and windows

Water Bill
The best way to save money on your water bill, and save water, is to use less. Ways to save water include:
  • Running the laundry when you have a full load
  • Keeping your showers to five minutes or less
  • Turn water off while you're scrubbing dishes or brushing your teeth
  • Watering your lawn during the evening
  • You can also save water by replacing or repairing leaking faucets and pipes.

Cable Bill
Many people are saving money on their cable bills by cutting the cord and switching to subscription streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu Plus. These are all great options, but if you want to keep your cable, try:
  • Cutting the premium channels
  • Getting rid of your DVR
  • Downsizing your monthly plan
  • Using fewer cable boxes in your home

Credit Card Bills
No matter how well you're managing your finances, credit card bills can eat up much of your monthly income. The quicker you can pay them off, the better. But in the meantime, try:
  • Consider consolidating your debt to a low-interest card or by taking out Installment Loans
  • Pay more than the minimum balance
  • Set up automated payments so you aren't tempted to skip one
  •  Negotiate with your creditor

Managing your finances each month can be tough, even for the most financially savvy people.  If you need a boost to get you going this year, consider Installment Loans from AmeriCash Loans.
